SSC Stenographer C and D 2022: Staff Selection Commission is the respective authority which conducts SSC Stenographer C and D exam every year. The SSC Stenographer C and D 2022 exam will be organized most likely in the month of September. Through this exam, candidates will be recruited as Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted) & Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted) Stenographers.

SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria 2022

It is mandatory for all the applicants to satisfy the important eligibility criteria of SSC Stenographer C and D 2022 before applying. Aspirants can check the complete details of SSC Stenographer C and D eligibility criteria 2022 from below:

Nationality:

  1. Candidate of India,
  2. Subject of Bhutan,
  3. Subject of Nepal,
  4. Tibetan refugee, who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of becoming a permanent resident,
  5. Person of Indian origin migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently settle in India are eligible for SSC Stenographer C and D 2019 exam.

The applicants (other than Indian nationals (1)) need to present a certificate of eligibility.

Education qualification:

A pass in 12th from a recognized university/board will be required to appear in the SSC Stenographer C and D 2019 exam.

SSC Stenographer Application Form 2022

Aspiring candidates who satisfy the prescribed eligibility criteria can fill the online application form for SSC Stenographer C and D 2022 exam. Candidates can obtain the SSC Stenographer C and D Application form 2022 by visiting the official website of SSC.

First of all, the candidates will have to fill the ‘one-time registration’ form providing personal details such as name, date of birth, mobile number, email id, etc. Details of the registration form can be edited once and that too before the submission of application. A registration id and password will be generated after filling the registration form. Using this id and password, the candidates will have to fill the application form. In the application form choice of centers, education qualification, post preference, etc. will be mentioned. The photograph and signature of the candidates in JPG format will also be uploaded in the form. The size of photograph should be between 4 kb to 12 kb and the signature should be between 1 kb to 12 kb.

Application fee:

For the successful completion of application, make the payment of Rs. 100/- as application fee. Payment can be done through SBI Bank Challan (generated online after completion of application part), SBI Net Banking or Debit Card/Credit Card. Women/SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of fee. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Take a printout of the duly filled application form. Request for change/correction in any particulars in the application form, once submitted will not be entertained under any circumstances.

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern 2022

It is must for all candidates to get familiar with the examination pattern to make a good preparation strategy. The exam will be conducted in two stages: Written Examination followed by Skill Test/Stenography Test. Below, we’ve provided complete details on SSC Stenographer C and D exam pattern 2022.

The exam will be held in online mode (computer-based test).

The paper will be divided into 3 parts.

The paper will be in Hindi and English both, except for part III.

All the questions will be of objective type.

The total duration of the paper will be 2 hours. 40 extra minutes will be provided to the VH/OH candidates (afflicted by Cerebral Palsy and locomotor disability whose writing speed is affected to the extent of slowing down the performance). In case such candidates avail a scribe, extra time of 40 minutes will be given to them also.

Each question will carry 1 mark and there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong response.

Admit Card for SSC Stenographer 2022

The SSC Stenographer C and D admit card 2022 will be uploaded on the website of the concerned regional office around 2 weeks before the date of exam. The venue, date and time of the exam will be mentioned in the admit card/ admission certificate. A photo identity proof (Voter’s ID/Aadhaar Card/Driving License/ID Card issued by Office in which the candidate is working), 3 passport size photographs and the admit card must be taken to the exam center, failing which the candidates will not be allowed to take their exam.

The applicants who are not able to download their admit card 1 week before the exam must contact the regional office with details such as registration id, transaction id of SBI, copy of Challan, etc.

Skill test in Stenography:

The candidates who qualify the SSC Stenographer C and D 2022 exam will be called for Skill Test. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English/Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade “C‟ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade “D‟.

The transcription time will be as follows:-

  • For Stenographer Grade “D‟: 50 minutes (English) or 65 minutes (Hindi)
  • For Stenographer Grade “C‟: 40 minutes (English) or 55 Minutes (Hindi)

For Visually Handicapped, Orthopedically Handicapped candidates & afflicted by Cerebral Palsy and the candidates who have a locomotor disability (40% or more) whose writing performance is slowed down, the transcription time will be as follows:

  • For Stenographer Grade “D‟: 75 minutes (English Shorthand) or 100 minutes (Hindi Shorthand)
  • For Stenographer Grade “C‟: 70 minutes (English Shorthand) or 95 minutes (Hindi Shorthand)

SSC Stenographer Exam Syllabus 2022

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, number series, non-verbal series, abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation, etc.
  • General Awareness: General awareness of the environment its application to society, current events, India and Neighboring countries, Culture, Sports, History, Geography, General Polity including Indian Constitution, Scientific Research, etc.
  • English Language & Comprehension: Understanding of the English Language, vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, writing ability, etc.

For VH candidates of 40% and above visual disability/afflicted by cerebral palsy and locomotor disability candidates and opting for scribe there will be no component of Maps/Graphs/Diagrams/Statistical Data in the paper.

Selection Process

The candidates who clear the skill test will be recommended for appointment by the commission. A merit list of the candidates will be made on the basis of their performance in the computer-based test. Allocation of the candidates to the user departments will depend on the merit list and the option exercised by them.

The selected candidates will be on probation of 2 years and will have to pass certain exam prescribed by the Controlling Authority. Also, the candidates who have given their skill test in Hindi will have to learn stenography in English and vice versa. On successful completion of the period of probation, the eligible candidates shall be confirmed to their post by the Controlling Authority.

Tie-breaker:

In case two or more candidates get the same rank, the tie will be broken on the basis of the following:

  • Marks in computer based examination.
  • Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.
  • Alphabetical order in which first names of the candidates appear
