Being a Lawyer is certainly one of the most popular and preferred career options for Indian Students. There are several institutes and universities in India who provides many Undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses for the candidates aspiring to be a lawyer. A student can opt for BALLB, BBA LLB, BSc LLB course after passing the 12th standard exam. Graduate candidates can pursue a 3 year LLB programme to become a lawyer in India.
Numerous entrance exams are conducted in order to grant admissions to the above-mentioned courses. Eligible candidates have to apply for them separately by submitting the application forms to the respective authorities. National level Law Entrance Exams 2020
Common Law Admission Test is a renowned law entrance exam to be conducted by 18 National Law Universities (NLU). It is a computer-based exam that offers admissions to numerous undergraduate, postgraduate and integrated degree programmes. The online registration for this exam is expected to start from the month of January 2020.
The Bar Council of India organizes AIBE (All India Bar Examination) at the national level to provide “Certificate of Practice”. The application form for this exam will be available in both online and offline mode from the month of January 2020.
DU LAW Admission
The University of Delhi will invite applications from the eligible candidates in order to offer admissions into its Law Programmes. The Admissions will be provided on the basis of LLB and LLM Entrance tests to be conducted by the university separately. The language of both the entrance exam will be English only.
Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Exam (KITTEE) will be conducted by KIIT University. It is a university level exam that will offer admissions to BA LLB, BBA LLB, and B.Sc LLB programmes in the field of Law. The online application form for this exam will be available in the month of December 2019.
All India Entrance Test (AILET) is organized by National Law University, Delhi on a yearly basis. Various UG and PG courses are offered at national law university along with its affiliated colleges through this entrance exam.
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) will organize a university level entrance exam called IPU CET to provide admissions to its Integrated BBA LLB and Integrated BA LLB programme. IPU CET will be held in the month of April 2020.
Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is an international level law entrance exam that is conducted by Law School Admission Council (LSAC), USA. This exam offers admission to several renowned law colleges in India and around the world.
Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University offers admissions to different courses on the basis of its common entrance exam known as SAAT (Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University Admission Test). Along with the SAAT 2020 score the university will also consider CLAT and LSAT marks while preparing final merit.
Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a famous university that offers LLB, BBA LLB, B.Com LLB, and LLM programme. The online registration for this exam will begin in the month of January 2020.
Students can get admission to a BA LLB and LLM degree programme from Aligarh Muslim University after clearing its common entrance exam to be held in the month of January 2020.
Allahabad University is one of the most famous universities in Uttar Pradesh. This university will organize Law Admission Test 2019 (LAT 2019) and Five-year Integrated Course Admission Test (LFAT) to shortlist candidates for its BA LLB and LLM programme.
Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University will organize separate entrance exams for admission to its various disciplines of Law. The online registration for BVP CET LLB, BVP CET BBA LLB, BVP CET LLM and BVP CET BA LLB will begin in the month of April 2020.
Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET)
BA LLB and BBA LLB programmes are offered by Symbiosis International University. This university has three campuses located in Pune, Noida, and Hyderabad. The admissions will be granted on the basis of Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET), it is an entrance exam to be held in February 2020 in offline mode.
Candidates seeking admissions to Lovely Professional University (LPU) have to clear a common online entrance exam called LPU NEST. LPU provides four degrees in the field of law i.e. LLB, B.Com LLB, BA LLB, BBA LLB.
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) offers admission to its three year LLB degree course through its university-level law entrance exam known as BHU UET. This exam will is expected to be conducted in April 2020.
DU LLB Entrance Exam
A University level entrance exam will be conducted the Faculty of Law, Delhi University in order to grant admission to LLB programme. This exam will be held in the month of June 2020 tentatively.
State Level Exams
MH CET Law
State Common Entrance Test Cell of Government of Maharashtra will conduct a state level Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law in order to grant admission to LLB (Three years degree course) and Integrated LLB (Five-year Integrated Degree Course).
AP LAWCET will be organized by the Sri Krishnadevraya University, Anantapur on the behalf of AP State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad. This entrance exam will provide admissions to LLB, BBA LLB/BA LLB/B.Com LLB/ BA LLB courses.
In order to offer admissions into 3 years and 5 Year LLB courses Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test (TS LAWCET) will be organized by the Kakatiya University, Warangal on the behalf of TSCHE. Online application form for this exam will be available in the month of March 2020. The questions will be asked in both Telugu and English language.
