Delhi University Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria, Dates

The University of Delhi, more commonly known as Delhi University (DU) provides admission to the candidates in several UG and PG courses. For some courses, admissions will be granted on the basis of entrance exam conducted by the university itself. For some others, enrolment is done on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying examination. The candidates can get an overview of information related to the application form, eligibility criteria, admit card, etc. through this article.

DU Application Form 2022

The application form for the different degree programmes will be made available on the official website of the university. A candidate can apply for more than one course at once. However, the application fee will be charged for each course separately. The candidates will have to upload scanned images of photograph, signature, self-attested copies of ID proof, caste certificate 10th passing certificate in the form. After completion of the form, it will be submitted along with the application fee. The payment can be done via credit card/debit card/net banking. The fee structure for different courses is mentioned below:

Note: UG admission in 4 streams namely Arts/Humanities/Music/Fine Arts, Commerce, Mathematical Sciences and Sciences under different faculties will be done on the basis of qualifying examination and the admission form will be common for these courses.

Eligibility Criteria

For UG Courses:

Courses Eligibility
BMS/B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics/BBA (FIA) Candidates should have passed/appearing 12th examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/CW/PWD categories) with English, Mathematics and other two subjects from the list of elective subjects as approved by the DU.

Candidates applying for improvement in 2021 shall not be eligible for admission.

B.Tech (Information technology & Mathematical Innovation) The applicant should have passed 10+2 with Mathematics with minimum 60% marks (for general candidates) in four subjects including mathematics.

The minimum marks is 54% for OBC, 57% for PWD/CW category and passing marks for SC/ST.

B.A. (Hons.) Humanities & Social Sciences The applicant should have passed/appearing 10+2 with Mathematics with minimum 60% marks (for general candidates) in four subjects including mathematics.

The minimum marks is 54% for OBC, 57% for PWD/CW category and passing marks for SC/ST.

Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EL.Ed) Those who have passed/appearing in class 12th with minimum 50% aggregate marks are eligible.
Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education & Sports Those who have passed/appearing in class 12th with minimum 45% aggregate marks are eligible.

The aggregate marks will be determined on the basis of one language and three best subjects.

B.A. (Hons.) Multimedia & Mass Communication The candidate must have passed (or appearing) in class 12th exam with 75% aggregate and 85% in English separately.

Only for women candidates can apply.

For PG Courses:

Courses Eligibility
M.Tech Microwave Electronics The candidate should have done either of the following:

M.Sc. Electronics or M.Sc. Physics with specialization in Electronics by obtaining minimum 60% marks

Or

B.Tech./B.E. in Electrical/Electronics/Electronics and Communication/Instrumentation Engineering with minimum 60% marks.

M.Sc. Physics B.Sc in related subjects or any branch of Science or Engineering with Physics and Mathematics passed with minimum 60% aggregate marks (50% marks for B.Sc. (Hons.))
M.Com The candidate should hold B.Com (Hons.)/B.A. (Hons.) Economics/B.Com/B.B.S./B.B.A./B.B.A./B.I.F.A./B.B.E degree.
MCA Should have a Bachelor degree (10+2+3) from the DU with at least one paper in Mathematical Sciences.
M.A. Political Science B.A. with 50% marks or B.Sc/BE/B.Com (or equivalent) with 60% marks is required.
LL.M. A three-year/five-year LL.B. Degree with 50% marks (45% marks for OBC/SC/ST category candidates) is required.

Exam Centers

The exam will be held in the following cities:

Bengaluru, Delhi, Jammu, Kolkata, Nagpur and Varanasi

Delhi University Exam Pattern 2022

The exam will be conducted offline (OMR sheets) and the question paper will consist of objective type questions (except for some foreign language papers which have short answer questions). The duration of examination will be 2 hours.

For UG courses, 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer.

Admit Card

The admit card will be available online only on candidate’s registration account. The admit card must be carried along with one identity proof to the exam center.

Delhi University Answer Key 2022

The answer key will be uploaded on the university official website one day (around 24 hours) after the conclusion of the examination.

Delhi University 2022 Result and Admission

The result of the entrance exam will be uploaded on the official website. The shortlisted candidates will be called for interview/group discussion. On the basis of performance in the entrance exam and interview/GD, a merit list will be made. For the courses in which there is no entrance exam, a cutoff will be decided by the university on the basis of marks scored in qualifying exam. Based on the merit list, admission will be carried out in the Delhi University.
